I was perscribed Tramadol hcl 50mg tablets today and was wondering if people have taken it and if it makes you really drowsy. I have 2 small children and since my husband is deployed I am the sole care provider for them and I want to know if I will be completely knocked out or will I be ok taking it? thanks

i was prescibed tramadol 50mg 2 tablets up to four times a day. this was for my severe stomach pain due to IBS but is now controlled by colifac (anti spasmodics). this was 4 months ago and i am still taking tamadol regularly even though im not in pain. im stealing them off my boyfriend who is on them for his back and he knows. i feel teible that im stealing but i cant help it. i need help but am scared to go to my gp as he might think im a bad peson. help me please x
My boy Merlin was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (OSA) in October 2008. The vet said it had already spread and that removing the leg would not help. I started him on Tramadol. He gets 4 (50mg) 3 times a day. He still whines at times and is stiff. His cancer is in his back leg. It started small and now his knee is almost the size of a basketball. He can still get around but seems sad most days. He still eats like a little piggy.I have searched the internet to get any info on what his leg would look like with this type of cancer and what kind of experiences ppl have had with Tramadol and there dog having canine cancer. No luck. I have found info on side effects, dosage in small dogs and amputations. But nothing on what Merlin and I are to expect. If anyone out there can help me. Maybe share you story. I will be forever grateful.

i've been having knee problems and today the doctor gave me tramadol for the pain 50mg. about an hour ago i took 2 of these pills as told by the doc but the pain is still the same. should i take another one or is that too much?
seems a little strong for a 17pound pug i gave it to her for 2 days she seems better now. just wanted to know your thoughts on this drug.

I started taking both of these meds June 25th. No problems, no side effects. For 1-1/2 weeks now, I'm getting terrible, terrible headaches (almost like migraines). If I were taking one or the other, I'd know which is causing these headaches. But, since they were giving me no side effects, I continued taking both as prescribed:
Tramadol: 50mg (1-2 tablets every 6 hours).
Neurontin: 300mg (1 tablet every 6-8 hours, and 2 @ bedtime).
OR could it be my cervical problems all of the sudden giving me headaches??
The reasons I'm taking these is: (left side/CERVICAL) 2 herniated discs, Degenerative disc disease, Degeneratative joint disease, and nerve root damage. I'm getting my first ever epidural injection on C6-7 on Tuesday.
But I CANNOT seem to get rid of this headache (mostly on left side). It's constant throbbing, around my eyes hurt. Feels like I'm hungover 24/7.
Tylenol & Excedrin doesn't help either.
Any opinions? Thanks so much for any help you can give!
I'm taking pills and drinking please help i have been taking 48 nurofen plus tablets every day stopped 5 days ago went to doctor on valium 5mg 1 4 times a day picking them up every day but taking them all in on hit got home not coping well started drinking baileys straight and looking for tablets to take found tramadol 50mg took 6 cause that's all i had nearly finished the bottle of drink i don't know what to do my family is aware of it my hubby is at work my daughter with my sister my son playing out side with his neighbour i don't know what to do i just want to pass out holding back my tears please need help....
i dont want to live any more im fell im just a burden on every one but if i go away my kids will suffer
I'm never able to sleep, as I have mentioned in a previous question. I didn't sleep at all last night, so this morning my sister (and roommate) got worried and wanted me to sleep. She gave me a 2mg Xanax and two 50mg Tramadol. I fell asleep about 25 minutes later at 7.30a and I didn't wake up until 4.30p. I slept the best and hardest I've ever slept. I know (after internet research) that her particular cocktail was way too much for just a sleep disorder, but does anyone think that I should/could ask my Dr. for a smaller RX for xanax for a sleep aide or will she think it is too dangerous?
I've tried Tylenol PM, Unisom, Advil PM, Melatonin, Simply Sleep, and some really expensive-ultra strong liquid form of melatonin. Nothing works. When I had a really bad cough, and my Dr. gave me cough syrup with codeine in it, that didn't even help me sleep. I don't know what's wrong with me. I haven't had a caffenated drink in 2 months.

I have been taking tramadol 50mg for about 3 years now (about 100- 150 mg per day). Recently, i have been experiencing pain/burning in my lower right back & sleeplessness. Almost like a bladder infection but uncured by antibiotics. Any ideas? Anyway i plan on stopping the tramadol tomorrow - probably with some withdrawl symptoms yet to come.....Any suggestions?

ive been living with chronic pain since 2005.
well rescently.. i got in trouble with my doctors.. and Pop Positive on a drug test for Methamphetimenes.. They took away my Narcotic pain killers and substituded it for Tramadol 50mg (2 tabs) 3 times a day.. THis isnt cutting it.. i was taking 45 mh Oxymorphine pills twice a day and oxycodone 5mg.. as needed for pain..
I Know I messed up and ive been clean for almost 2 months now.. and Dont know what to ask.. This stuff isnt working.. and Now im having to BUY pain killers to stop the chronic pain in my lower back and hip.. Just asking.. What can i do??

I'm 32 years old, in the military and suffer from chronic pain every moment of every day. I've broken a wrist, foot, and toe which all still hurt. I have an achilles injury that has not healed in 2 years. Both my knees hurt. And I've had kidney stones for the last 3 weeks. The only medication I've been given is 50mg of Tramadol (Ultram). The Tramadol has zero effect on my pain. I've tried everything available to me within the military to better the health care that I am receiving, however anytime a subject such as mine is brought up you are thought of as two things: A liar and an addict. Instead of helping you, they give you the run around for sooo long that eventually you say f*ck it and give up.*Edit - Funny someone mentioned an antidepressant. I am on Wellbutrin for depression which in part I believe was brought on by pain and inability to do the things I enjoy.
I have 2 herniated disc's in my neck. The doc prescribed Neurontin & Tramadol for pain. The Neurontin is "take 1 capsule twice/day and 2 @ bedtime." (300mg).The Tramadol is "take 1 to 2 tablets every 6 hours." (50mg.)I also have been prescribed Ibuprofen 800mg., use when needed.Had x-rays and mri's=showed 2 herniated disc's. I'm scheduled for a c6 & 7 epidural injection on July 15th.My question is has anyone used both of these meds for herniated disc's and has worked for them? I started these on the 25th of this month (june), but finding no relief with them.I WAS on Darvocet, until my orthopedic surgeon sent me to my current neuro-surgeon (who prescribed these & is doing the injections).Also, if I need the injections for c6 AND 7, will they just do one injection for both, or will they have to do 2 seperate injections? It may be a stupid question, but I don't know all the answers.Thanks for any help!When I take the meds for bedtime, I wake up so stiff. Can't move my left arm, and can't turn my neck at all. As the day goes by, meds slowly gives me mobility. But, I really hurt in the a.m. when I wake up. Last few days haven't been sleeping well either. Just hard to get comfortable. I wear a sling during the day if I'm walking, shopping, etc., cause as long as my arm hangs, the worst the pain gets from arm hanging too long.Maybe I just need an increase of dosage? I am currently on a large number of other medication for pain related to Brittle Bones such as Paracetamol 500mg , Tramadol 200SR, Tramadol 50mg Caps, Iburfen 400mg, Norspan Patches 20/SR, Temaazepam 10mg, Diazepam 5mg, Ranitidine 150mg, Pariet 30mg. These two are for depression Faverin 300 mg and Amitriptyline 20 mg. Medication are used for Osteo arthritis, bone pain and daily comfate. What I am trying to find out is the anything I can take or already use to reduce or prevent such extreme head aches/migranes? or if there is something that I can ourchase over the counter from the chenist?
I was perscribed Tramadol to deal with pain. I have polycystic kidney disease along with that I took two of them they are 50mg a piece and I felt as if I couldn't understand questions and that I wasn't in the right mind to. It also felt as if it was still in my system 3 days after the fact I couldn't see straight I was very moody and it was terrible. So basically I want to know how it effects my judgement and everything else any answers are welcomed.
